Since moving back to school, I've been busy 24/7. Most of the time, I've had 12 hour days - from 9am to 9pm. It doesn't really seem like 12 hours, though, because RA training has been so much fun.
It's been a lot of information to absorb about a LOT of different things, and I'm only halfway done with training. We've also done a lot of bonding with the entire RA staff and my specific hall (Husman Hall) staff. I feel like I've known these people for years already when I've only known most of them for a few days! It's crazy how fast we guys clicked. Last night we watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall around 11pm, and a lot of times we just sit in the main office together and either work on materials we need for our door decs or organize the office.
I love really bonding with people. Especially when we really get to talking with each other. One thing that really surprised me is finding out that two people tried being vegan for 2 weeks - and they wish they could've stuck with it - and they think it's awesome that I'm vegan! Talking to them about it and about lots of different health related topics really made me excited. Too often I come across people we tell me how being vegan is bad, or that I should return to eating meat, or that they don't understand why I would ever want to be vegan. So finding people who felt positively about it was really cool!

Basically, training is going so, so well. I couldn't be happier with my staff, my training, or anything at all. It's been great. I know being an RA is going to be a challenging/busy experience, but it will totally be worth it all in the end. I'm going to have some really strong friendships by the end of this year. Everyone is so supportive and easy to talk to... I love them all! :)
